This delicious Creamy Tomato Beef Pasta can be ready in 30 minutes with minimal ingredients and even less effort! The combination of beef mince, a creamy mushroom and tomato sauce and plenty of cheese make it a solid family favourite. So let's make it!

This Creamy Tomato Beef Pasta, known as Faschetti in my family, was a regular feature on the dinner menu at my Gran and Papa's house. Served with some gorgeous garlic bread, it was definitely one of my favourite meals to be served whenever I was there.

The other one was Turkey Escalopes with Bread Sauce (Schwartz packet stuff) oddly enough, couldn't get enough of it! Thankfully I've got my own homemade version to enjoy now though!
If you ask the population of Scotland (maybe the UK) what they call this Creamy Tomato Beef Pasta - it will range from Marzetti, Marchetti, Faschetti and beyond! And the reason for that..?

The recipe was displayed on the label of a Campbell's Soup Tin back in the 1960's, 'cause that's where my Gran said she got it. So thousands of families will know and love this dish across the UK, which is nice to think of.
So with how AMAZING this recipe is, it seriously makes me consider taking a closer look at the suggested recipes on the side of products I love now.
How To Make This Dish Family Friendly
Suitable from 6 months +

Use no additional salt (seasoning) during cooking.
Due to using the tinned condensed soups, which have a higher salt content, try to balance out other meals served that day to under 1 year olds (less than 1g total salt per day) and 2-3 year olds (less than 2g total salt per day) - ref. How Much Salt Should A Baby Have by Charlotte Stirling-Reed.
For Baby Led Weaning - I found the best pasta to use (with my kids) was either large rigatoni or fusilli shaped pasta, so this is already perfect.
Ingredients You Need For Creamy Tomato Beef Pasta

Olive Oil
Onion
Mushrooms: I know everyone isn't a fan of mushrooms, so leave these out if you like but don't let it put you off trying the pasta (because of the soup)!
Garlic
Beef Mince (Ground Beef): best purchased from your local butcher, as the texture is so much nicer!
Condensed Mushroom Soup + Condensed Tomato Soup
Cheddar Cheese: I love using Extra Mature Cheddar as it adds more of a kick of flavour, but Mild Cheddar would be fine (especially if serving to kids too).
Fusilli (Rotini) Pasta: although you can use any pasta shape you like, I find this is the best for beef mince pasta. As the ground beef can get stuck in the spiral shape of the pasta and coat it how it should!
Method / How To Cook Creamy Tomato Beef Pasta
Chop mushrooms and onion, add to a pan with olive oil and allow to soften (10 minutes). Finely chop garlic and add to pan after mushrooms and onions are soft, cook for 2 minutes.

Add mince, break up with a wooden spoon and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned. Start to cook pasta in salted water.

Open both cans of soup and add to pan to simmer on low for 10 minutes.

Grate cheese, then add grated cheese to pan and simmer on low until all cheese has melted. Add cooked pasta into the sauce.

Taste and season with more salt + pepper if desired (I personally don't feel it needs any more). The to serve, garnish with chopped fresh parsley and (lots of) grated parmesan!

I've also included the information on how to make Creamy Tomato Beef Pasta in the Slow Cooker - full details can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of the page.
Storage + Re Heating
The Creamy Tomato Beef Pasta can be stored in the fridge for 4 - 5 days once cooked.
It can also be stored in the freezer for up to 4 months, and reheated straight from frozen. Even better if you freeze the sauce only and add fresh pasta after defrosting.
